Industrial Training Institute (ITI) are maintained & regulated under Vyavasayik Pareeksha Parishad of Uttar Pradesh. It is this council (Parishad) which issues notification related to admission into the government aided as well as private institutions in Uttar Pradesh. The candidates who apply for the admission into any of these institutions are allocated with seats on the basis of Merit List issued by the council. After that, the aspiring candidates will be given admissions to NCVT & SCVT Courses. How reservation of seat is made in ITI?
As in any other examination for getting enrolled in State level institutes, ITI institutes in Uttar Pradesh also has reservation of scheduled classes & Scheduled tribes preserved in the seats. In this, 70 % seats are reserved for SC/ ST trainee while for OBC trainees, 15% seats are reserved. Similarly, there are reserved seats for Horizontal reservation for freedom fighters – 2%, ex-servicemen- 5%, physically handicapped candidates- 3 % & female candidates- 20 %.
Process of Seat Allocation
For allocating seats to the candidates who have applied for the admission, a merit list will be prepared with respect to their essential qualification & preferential marks as per their category for courses of different groups. The new changes says that the total seat for a district will be pooled in 4 different parts. Other Vertical & horizontal reservation will be provided with reservation in Block, Tehsil, District & State levels. It is in the filled status of the candidate that the first preference will be given to the NCVT courses & the trade chosen. 6 choices in any 3 districts are made available for each candidate & a maximum of 10 choices for group A & group B courses. In the first round of seat allocation, the final seats will be given on the basis of group, institute, trade & course chosen.
