Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) West Bengal (WB)
Vocational Training in the state of West Bengal is predominantly based upon two flagship schemes namely Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) and National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NAT).The CAT provides institutional Training where as NAT is a combination of institutional as well as on job training to the students so that they can get real life exposure of industrial environment.
Craftsman Training Scheme which is the core scheme of providing vocational training to the aspirants is implemented through various Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and private training institutes (ITC). At present there are 43 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s), 08 Industrial Training Centers (ITC’s), 01 Government Junior Polytechnic and 37 Private Affiliated Institutes in the state imparting technical skills to the young generation.
The eligible candidates can apply both for the engineering as well as non engineering trades and can visit www.wbscvt.net to get online admission as well as to check the results of their entrance examination. To take admission the candidate must be 10th passed and between 114 to 40 years of age. The ITI’s and ITC’s and other affiliated institutes in West Bengal has total capacity of 16412 students.
