The eligibility criteria for the Polytechnic courses are as follows:

Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Age criteria: The eligible candidates are those who are below the age of 21 years.

Educational Qualification: The applicant has to clear the 10th standard exam, or equivalent, and through recognized Boards. Moreover, if applying via the general category, the candidate’s score should be 45%, or above, in the qualifying exam. In the case of the reserved categories, they have to score minimum 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

Medical fitness: The applicant has to furnish Medical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.

Domicile: The aspirant should have a Domicile certificate of Meghalaya and be a permanent resident of the Meghalaya state.

Post the receipt of the candidates’ applications and expiry of the given deadline, the authorities review all the applications. The subsequent step is to shortlist the applicants on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam and overall profile. Then, the selected candidates are called for counseling by the concerned authorities for the personal interview rounds.
