Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (University for Women) is situated in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was founded in the year 1983 by Sri N.T.Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It was established under the Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam Act of 1983, University named after the goddess Sri Padmavati, the consort of Lord Venkateswara. University was started with ten faculties, 300 students and 20 staff members. Presently the University has more than 2000 student and an academic staff 250. The campus of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam University is covers in a lush green area of 138.43 acres. It is located at a distance of only 3 km from the railway and bus stations of Tirupati.
