Karnataka is a state in India, and like the rest of the Indian states holds a variety of courses at the varied Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). In Karnataka, the governing body that conducts the admission process for the ITI programs is the Directorate of Employment & Training (DET).
The official website for applying to the ITI courses is http://emptrg.kar.nic.in/etiindex.asp. There is no separate entrance exam that is held by the ITI authorities for granting admissions into the programs. On merit basis, the applicants are allotted the respective ITI colleges.
On the official website, the candidates have to fill the application form. However, to be considered for the admissions, they must fulfill the given criteria. The candidates should have passed their 10th or 12th examination from recognized educational boards. Also, they must be above 14 years of age to be eligible.
After the application process, the concerned body will prepare a merit list, and upload the same on the official website. Only those candidates whose names appear in the merit list can take admissions. Moreover, they have to appear for the counseling sessions on the stipulated dates.
At the counseling sessions, the original documents are verified. If any discrepancy is found, the candidates are disqualified. It is mandatory for the aspirants to provide factual information to qualify for admissions in their chosen colleges.
