The candidates who wish to apply for the various courses that are held at the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in India’s Meghalaya state must know that the governing body of the admission process is the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training. All the required details pertaining to the application process in the Meghalaya ITI centers is mentioned on the official website dectmeg.nic.in.
Only those candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are granted admissions in the various ITI courses, where the pupils are imparted technical education on engineering and non-engineering trades.
The eligibility norms include that the aspirants should be above 14 years of age and permanent residents of Meghalaya. Also, they should have cleared their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams that are supervised by the State Board of Secondary Education, Meghalaya. However, some programs require the candidates to have passed their 8th standard examinations as well. The several trades that are conducted at Meghalaya’s ITI centers include plumber, welder, fitter, surveyor, motor vehicle mechanic, and stenographer – amongst others.
For applying to Meghalaya’s ITI courses, the candidates have to obtain the application forms that are available at the several ITI colleges in the state. Subsequently, the filled application forms along with the application fee have to be submitted at the stipulated centers.
Following the application process and after the given deadline, the merit list is prepared by the ITI authorities. On the basis of the merit list, the shortlisted candidates have to attend the counseling sessions where their original educational documents are verified.
Finally, the overall candidature of the applicants, and availability of seats at the respective ITI centers, is considered after which they are admitted to the respective ITI colleges.
