Preparing for ICET 2014

Introduction:

It is a common knowledge that people today are taking their education and career very seriously. It is a significant affair for them, and thus the exams, which are being conducted by various authorities are also being treated as the big national events. The big professional course, which is attracting a large number of graduates today, is the management program. To enter into a good business school, a number of entrance exams are there, and one of these is the Integrated Common Entrance Test or ICET.

About the paper:

This particular exam is taken by students who want to pursue their management education from the Universities of Andhra or any affiliated college. Now it is time that the university has declared the admissions for the session starting in 2014. For this, the students need to appear for the ICET 2014 exam and have to go through a small round of group discussion and interview. The process is much common as like other competitive tests.This exam is organised every year by the Kakatiya University, Warangal. The people who want to get admission into any college, for this course needs to score at least 25% marks in this exam. This criterion is applicable to all the candidates apart from the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes. For these students, there is no qualifying percentage applicable. The paper consists of 200 questions in total which have to be attempted by the candidates in 150 minutes. The pattern of the exam is much simpler and is published as official information on the official website of the institute. It is an MCQ type of test.

Syllabus: There are three basic sections of the test, which are again subdivided in few more sub-sections.

The people who are going to take this exam in 2014 are preparing hard on the subjects included in the ICET 2014 syllabus which is as follows:

1. Analytical ability, which comprises 75 questions and each question carries 1 mark.

a. Data sufficiency, which holds a total of 20 questions with 1 mark each.

b. Sequences and series- In this section there are 25 questions in the paper, all of which carry 1 mark each.

c. Data analysis has 10 questions in the entire paper, which again are of 1 mark each.

d. Coding and decoding problems- there are 10 questions of this type in the paper with 1 mark each.

e. Date, time and arrangement carry 10 questions with 1 mark each.

2. Mathematical ability consists of total 75 questions with one mark each.

a. Arithmetical ability- 35 questions

b. Algebraic and geometric ability- 30 questions

c. Statistical ability- 10 questions

3. Communication ability has 50 questions related to it each carrying one mark.

a. Vocabulary- 10 questions

b. Business and computer technology- 10 questions

c. Functional grammar- 15 questions

d. Reading comprehension- 15 questions

This test is quite necessary for those who want to get admission in any sort of MBA or MCA course.
