Sakaldiha PG College, Sakaldiha, Chandauli

The year 1965 marks the establishment of the Sakaldikha Postgraduate College (SPGC) which is located at Sakaldikha in the Chandauli district of the Uttar Pradesh state of India. The SPGC was set up by the Late Ram Kamal Pandey who envisioned a higher educational institution in the impoverished districts of UP. The SPGC has affiliation to the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth in Varanasi in UP. Also, the institution conducts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Arts Discipline.

Courses

  • UG Courses
  • Bachelor of Arts

Among UG courses, the SPGC offers the Bachelor of Arts (BA) course in 11 subjects. These include English, Hindi, Social Service, Sanskrit, Political Science, Physical Education, Geography, Ancient History, Psychology, Economics, and Defence Studies.

  • Bachelor of Physical Education

The College, also, has provisions for the 2-year, full-time Bachelor of Physical Education (BEd) program.

To be eligible for the BEd course, the applicant has to secure minimum 50% marks in the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree courses in the fields of Humanities or Social Sciences.

Further, candidates who secure a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology can apply. However, they should have specialized in either Maths or Science. Additionally, the minimum qualifying marks to be eligible is at least 55% marks from a recognized Board or University.

  • PG Courses

The SPGC also has PG courses in the Arts stream in 5 subjects. These include Sociology, English, Political Science, Hindi, and Geography.

Campus

The SPGC campus is spread over 1 acre of land and provides a host of facilities. The College campus boasts of a well-equipped library. Plus, the College offers medical care and canteen facilities.

Aside from that, the College has laboratories, common rooms, and computer centers.

More so, the SPGCcampus houses NSS and NCC units that organize various socio-economic drives. By participating in such initiatives, the College students learn about their responsibility towards society and its members. In turn, they develop into responsible citizens who contribute to the nation’s progress.
