About Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) Jammu and Kashmir

The Department of Technical Education (DTE) of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir (J & K) was appointed in the year 1981 to supervise the conduct of the vocational training programs in the Indian state of J & K. In India, technical education is imparted through the several government-owned Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and privately-owned Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) that have been constituted across the country’s different states.

The vocational training centers are run as per the guidelines that are laid down by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT); the same are implemented by the State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) in the states.

There are various NCVT/SCVT engineering and non-engineering trades that the aspiring candidates can choose from. However, they must study the eligibility criteria prior to applying; and only if eligible, they are advised to apply for the respective courses.

Depending on their qualifications and preferences, they can select among the various trades. Then, as per the chosen trades, they are conferred with the National Trade Certificates or State Level Trade Certificates after completing the courses successfully. Also, accordingly, they can submit their applications for the jobs, both at the national level and state level.
