Upon completion of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses, the students have to appear for the All India Trade Test (AITT). Then, if they attain the required scores for passing, they are conferred with the National Trade Certificate (NTC). As part of the ITI programs, the candidates are given placement assistance as well.
In India, as per the Craftsmen Scheme of 1950, the ITIs have been instituted under Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Union Government of India. Also, the ITI programs are managed by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). The ITI students can apply for the NCVT jobs after they attain the NTCs.
Under the ITI courses, the aspirants have a variety to choose from. Depending on their interests, they can make their selection. They can select among the varied engineering and non-engineering ITI trades. The duration of the ITI courses is pegged to be between the range of 6 months to 2 years. The ITI programs are designed for those who want to gain some technical expertise and are not keen on continuing with conventional studies.
If the students want to apply for the NCVT ITI placements, they have to register on the official website http://www.apprenticeship.gov.in/Pages/Placement/Home.aspx. They have to fill the online ‘Candidate Registration for Placement’ form and then, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
After they have completed their ITI candidate registration, they will be contacted by the ITI authorities for any jobs that are suitable to the candidates, as per their acquired skills in the ITI programs.
