The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) was divided to form a separate state, Telangana, during the year 2014. Thereafter, the State Board of Technical Education & Training (SBTET) was appointed to oversee technical and non-technical education in the AP state. Moreover, the Board has the responsibility to review and update the course curriculum as per the current trends. By doing so, the technical training centers can offer industry-relevant programs. In turn, the students are suitably trained to get employment in industries.
There are varied Government and Private colleges in Andhra Pradesh that impart Polytechnic courses. However, to gain admission in the institutes, the candidates have to appear for the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET).
