The Department of Training and Technical Education (DTTE) comes under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, and has the responsibility of technical education in India’s union territory of Delhi. Every year, to admit candidates in Delhi’s government-managed and privately-run Polytechnic institutes, the DTTE conducts a state-level entrance examination that is the Delhi Common Entrance Test (Delhi CET). Through clearing the entrance exam, the applicants can get admission in the full-time engineering and non-engineering diploma programs, as well as lateral entry into the 2nd year engineering courses, in Delhi’s various institutions.

Delhi CET Application Form

During April, the candidate can access the official website for downloading the online application form. At first, the registration process is to be completed by way of sharing some basic details. Also, the applicant has to choose the test that they wish to appear for. Moreover, they have to give a valid mobile number and email address. After duly filling the application form, the aspirant should click on the ‘Submit’ option. The next step is to upload scanned images of the candidate’s signature and photograph, following which the ‘Upload’ option is to be selected. Thereafter, the system displays the candidate’s Application Number. Besides, they must take a printout of their application form. Additionally, through online or offline mode, the applicant has to tender the application fee.

Delhi CET Eligibility Criteria

The aspiring candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria of the diploma courses as notified by the admission authorities.

Qualifying Exam: The applicant should clear the 10th standard exam that is conducted by the CBSE Board, or equivalent, to qualify. Their minimum score has to 35% marks; with English, Science, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Age Limit: For the general category students, the upper age limit for boys is 21; and for girls, 23.

Physically Fitness: The candidate has to be physically fit. More so, they should furnish a Medical Fitness certificate by registered practitioners.

Delhi CET Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Delhi CET examination contains 150 questions that are objective-type ones. As per OMR pattern, the exam is held in offline mode. The candidates have 2 hours and 30 minutes to answer the given questions. The total marks of the question paper are 600.

The applicant has to use black ball pen to answer the questions. For every right answer, they get 4 marks. For wrong answers, 1 mark is deducted.

The question paper has questions on subjects such as Mathematics (50), Physics (40), Chemistry (30), Biology (15), and English (15).

Delhi CET Admit Card

For downloading their respective admit cards, the candidate has to visit the official website. Upon browsing the site, the related link for admit card download is to be selected. Thereafter, the admit card is exhibited on the screen and the candidate can, then, take a printout.

Delhi CET Exam Result & Merit List

In June, after the authorities upload the exam results and Merit List, the aspirants can log in into their accounts with their login credentials to download their exam results. Upon entering the required details, the results are displayed on the screen. Now, the candidate can take a printout.

Taking into consideration the marks scored by the candidate in the qualifying exam, the authorities declare the exam results and Merit List. The Merit List contains the candidates’ ranks that are important for the seat allotments.

Delhi CET Counseling

During the month of June, the successful candidates have to attend the counseling rounds. In online mode, the counseling ensues. Also, the seats are allotted as per the candidate’s Merit Rank.

As part of the counseling sessions, the original documents of the applicant are verified. They have to, also, fill in their choices of colleges and institutes. They should give maximum choices to increase their chances of getting admission in institutions of their preference. Finally, the applicant should visit the allotted institute for completion of the remaining admission formalities.
