The responsibility of conducting the state-level entrance examination that is the Diploma Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (PET) lies with the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE). J&K Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria

The aspiring candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria for applying, as seen below.

They should be permanent residents of the J&K state.

They have to clear the 10th standard examination from recognized statutory Boards. Even if the candidate is appearing for the 10th standard exams, they can apply.

If applying via the general category, the candidate has to score minimum 40% aggregate marks in order to qualify. In the case of the reserved classes, they have to secure 37% marks, or above. Also, at the time of admission, they should pass Mathematics and Science subjects in the 10th class examination.

No upper age limit is specified for applying.

J&K Polytechnic Application Form

In the month of January, the authorities start accepting applications in online mode. To apply, the applicants have to visit the JKBOPEE official websites. On the website, they should select the option ‘Click to Apply’. Then, the candidate has to read all the given instructions, and subsequently select the ‘I have read the instructions’ box.

The next step is to click on the ‘Apply’ option. Thereafter, all the registration details are to be filled. Upon successful registration, the system generates an Application Number.

Next, the applicant has to click on the ‘Click Here to Upload Document’ option. Then, the scanned copies of the necessary documents have to be uploaded. Thereafter, they have to preview their application form and check all details. The candidate has to, then, select the ‘Print Application Form’ option and keep a printout for later use.

The subsequent step is to make the payment of the Application Fee via online modes of payment.

J&K Polytechnic Exam Pattern

Within a 3-hour duration, the applicant has to answer 180 questions that are multiple-choice ones. The correct answers give the candidates 1 mark each; and for the incorrect ones, 0.2 marks are deducted. Also, the medium of the exam is English.

The question paper covers subjects such as Mathematics (70), Physics (40), Chemistry (40), and English (30).

J&K Polytechnic Syllabus

As per the Class 10th syllabus, the J&K PET exam is set. Hence, the candidates have to prepare accordingly. The subjects that are covered in the examination include Maths, Science (Physics & Chemistry), and English.

J&K Polytechnic Admit Card

The authorities upload the Admit Cards of the applicants before the exam date. More so, they notify the candidates about the same. Accordingly, the aspirants have to visit the official websites and click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ link. Then, the system prompts them to enter the required details, following which the cards are downloadable.

The applicants have to take a printout of their respective admit cards. They must, also, carry the cards to the examination hall where the examining authorities ascertain their identity via the admit cards.

If the applicant notices any discrepancies in the Admit Card, they should notify the authorities for the necessary corrections.

J&K Polytechnic Exam Result & Merit List

During April, the results are accessible via the official website. And the candidates can download their exam results after entering the required details.

In addition to the exam results, the authorities release the Merit List as well. In the Merit List, the ranks of the candidates are mentioned that is needed during the seat allotment process.

J&K Polytechnic Counseling

The selected candidates receive notifications about the counseling schedule. Then, they have to attend the counseling sessions for the seat allotment process to ensue.

When attending the counseling rounds, the applicants should carry their original educational documents. This is important for the authorities to verify the authenticity of the documents. Additionally, the candidates are asked to give their choices of streams and colleges that they are seeking admission in. Then, after taking into consideration the availability of seats and the applicants’ preferences, the authorities allocate the seats.

Finally, the aspirants are required to go to the allotted college for completing the other admission formalities, including the payment of fees.
