Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Vidyapeeth which was formerly known as Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth is an agricultural university which is situated at Dapoli in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. It was established on 18th May 1972 as Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth and got its new name on 12th February 2001. The main objective of the university is to provide education in the field of agriculture and allied science and to provide research base which helps in the improvement of agriculture, horticulture, livestock fisheries etc in the Konkan region that offers it growth and self-sufficiency of the state.

The research centre of the university at Karjat has developed some patent varieties of rice. It has also received the best institute award of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The university also has 15 off-campus research stations throughout the Konkan region along with two Krishi Vigyan Kendras at Shirgaon (Ratnagiri) and Karjat (Raigad) region that offers training and education to the local farmers as well. The university offers B.Sc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Foresrty, Agril Marketing and Business Management along with B.Tech in Food Sciences, M.Sc in Agriculture and Ph.D in Agriculture.
