Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University was established in 2008 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow. This is the first ever University in India which exclusively provides education to the physically challenged students in a suitable environment. The establishment of this University is a highly innovative method undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Government which brings the idea of academic and social responsibility under one roof.
