This University was named after the one of the most brilliant politician, first Chief Minister and architect of Himachal Pradesh- Late Dr, Yashwant Singh Parmar. This University was established to improve the economy of the State and to encourage education, research and extension education in the fields of Horticulture, Forestry and allied disciplines.
