So, the State Government of Rajasthan has established Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology in the Udaipur city by the bifurcation of Rajasthan Agriculture University of Bikaner on 1 November 1999. Since its establishment, the University has taken up the responsibility of discovering and preparing adaptive new agricultural techniques for better output and development. Its jurisdiction is spread mainly in South and South-Eastern parts of Rajasthan covering districts of Banswara, Baran, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sirohi and Udaipur. These areas were taken care by the University with Agricultural Research Stations, Agricultural Research Sub Stations, Livestock Research Station, Dryland Farming Research Station and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
