About Manipur University, Imphal

Manipur University was established earlier as a State University on 5 June1980 at Chanchipur in the Capital City of Manipur- Imphal. In 2005, it was converted into a Central University and its territorial jurisdiction lies all over Manipur. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Manipur University provides affiliation to over 86 colleges and 1 constituent college called Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT).
