Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established in 1998 in the city of Hyderabad in the Indian State of Telangana. This seat of higher learning was named after the great freedom fighter, India’s first Education Minister and a great scholar of Islam and Urdu literature- Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. This University is recognized by the University Grants Commission and is accredited “A” Grade by the National & Assessment Accreditation Council. The main aim of this University is to endorse and develop the Urdu language and Urdu literature. Here, the education and training is imparted through the medium of Urdu language. It also provides numerous accesses to the students for obtaining higher education through campus and distance mode.
The sprawling 200 acres campus of Maulana Azad National Urdu University proudly boasts of having seven schools of studies: School of Languages, Linguistics & Indology, School of Commerce & Business Management, School of Journalism & Mass Communication, School of Arts & Social Sciences, School of Sciences, School of Education & Training and School of Computer Science & Information Technology. These schools provide higher education at master programmes and research programmes at M. Phil. and Ph D level in fields of Urdu, English, Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Bussiness Management, Mass Communication, Political Science & Public Administration, Education & Training, Translation, Women Education and Computer Science & Information Technology. Moreover, this University has also established and provides affiliation to ITI’s, Polytechnic and Teacher Training Colleges.
