Industrial Training Institutes and Industrial Training Centers are post secondary schools in India that offer technical as well as non technical education to the students to give them better opportunities for employment. These training institutes are constituted under the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Union Government that provide training in various trades. Time duration of these courses range from six months to two years in over 130 trade specialities and the minimum qualification is 8th to 10th Pass.

After successful completion of the course, trainees write the All India Trade Test (AITT) and successful candidates received the National Trade Certificate (NTC). The trades offered by these institutes can be divided into various groups like Mechanical Group, Electrical /Electronic Group, Automobile Group, Non Engineering Group etc. All the institutes are well equipped with labs and workshops with latest tools and machinery which is being utilized by the students during their course.

The tools and machines in the workshops and labs are supplied under the Vocational Training Project (VTP) with World Bank Assistance from the Ministry of Labour, Government of India. Some of the machines include Milling machines-Horizontal & Vertical & Universal lathes, Radial Drilling machine, Tool room lathe and Drilling machine, electronic test equipment like Cathode Ray Oscilloscopes, Pulse generator, Signal Tracer, laptops , latest configured PC’s with latest software etc are few among many which are provided to the students in different courses to understand their practical usage etc.
