Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute is constituent educational institute of the University of Allahabad. It was established on 14 July 2005 as the constituent institute of the University of Allahabad. Earlier it was established in 1980 as one of the units of Social Science Research Institute set up by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). This institute is involved in the widespread research in the field of Social Sciences. Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute is located in the Allahabad city in the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh.
