by The Sri Venkateswara College (SVC) started holding academic sessions from the year 1962 onwards. The founders of the College are Dr C.Anna Rao, Dr K.L.Rao, and Smt Durgabai Deshmukh. Under the aegis of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the SVC was set up. Initially, the College was instituted to serve the educational needs of the South Indian community. At SVC, aspirants can specialize in Science, Commerce and Arts streams.
More so, SVC has highly trained academic faculty members who are trained to stimulate the students’ overall development.
In the field of Commerce, the College is ranked 9th among the Colleges in India by India Today in 2019. Besides, the College has been given 5th rank by the NIRF. Also, the NAAC has accredited the College with ‘A’ grade.
Courses
The SVC enrols pupils in undergraduate programs in Science, Arts and Commerce streams. In PG courses, the College invites applications from candidates for MA and MSc courses in different specializations. Also, aspirants can apply to the College for various vocational and add-on courses.
The College grants admissions to the UG programs via merit basis and after calculating the scores of the candidate in the Class XII exam. They consider the ‘Best Four’, including one language subject and three best elective ones.
The College adheres to the admission norms as laid down by the DU.
Amenities
The College campus spans 15 acres of land at Dhaula Kuan in New Delhi. As part of the amenities that SVC offers the pupils is a Placement Cell.
The Cell convenes placement drives and invites companies that offer placements to the graduating students.
More so, the College has provisions for auditoriums, sports complexes, seminar halls, hostels, medical care, canteen, bank, among others. Also, the College library is well stocked with books and other reference material.
