by Since the inception of the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS) in the year 2005, this prestigious medical institution has been offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of medicine. Traced to Saifai in the Etawah district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the UPUMS specializes in medical education and research. Previously, this medical institution was referred to as the UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. The official website of the UPUMS is https://www.upums.ac.in.
The UPUMS has various colleges and departments – imparting education in different streams of medicine. The four constituent colleges of the University as the Paramedical Vigyan Mahavidyalaya, College of Pharmacy, College of Dentistry, and College of Nursing.
Also, the UPUMS offers undergraduate-level and postgraduate-level programs, as well as diploma courses in paramedical and nursing.
The University has a multi-specialty hospital and trauma center to cater to the medical needs of the public and students, as well.
Courses
At the undergraduate level, the UPUMS offers courses such as the BSc in Nursing and the BSc in Laboratory Techniques. Also, the College conducts the Bachelor of Physiotherapy and the Bachelor of Optometry programs. Additionally, the College of Pharmacy holds the 4-year BPharm course.
In the line of postgraduate courses, the University has provisions for the 2-year MPharm course that the College of Pharmacy conducts.
Among the diploma courses, the UPUMS conducts the 3-year GNM and 2-year ANM courses.
Eligibility Criteria
- For the BSc Courses
The eligibility norms of the BSc courses require the aspirant to pass the Class XII exam in Science discipline from a recognized educational board. The minimum score to qualify in the qualifying exam is 45% aggregate marks.
Amenities
The various facilities that are available to the pupils on the UPUMS campus are hostels, shuttle service, auditoriums, laboratories, hostels, fully-furnished classrooms, among others.
Aside from that, the College library has a rich collection of books, journals, periodicals, and other titles.
For the physical development of the students, the campus houses indoor and outdoor sports facilities too.
