About Arunachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET)

The responsibility of conducting the state-level Arunachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) lies with the Department of Education that comes under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The aspirants who want to teach Primary (classes 1st to 5th) and Upper Primary (classes 6th to 8th) Levels in schools of Arunachal Pradesh can apply for AP TET. If they qualify the exam, they become eligible to apply for teacher positions at the aforesaid levels (as applicable) in the government-run schools across India’s Arunachal Pradesh state. AP TET entails two levels that include Paper-I and Paper-II. For aspirants who want to teach Primary Level classes, they must apply for Paper-I; and Paper-II applies for those aspiring candidates who want to teach Upper Primary Level classes.

The candidates who qualify AP TET are awarded the ‘Eligibility Certificate’ that certifies them to apply for teacher positions in schools across Arunachal Pradesh for 7 years.

Across India, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted for selecting eligible candidates to teach classes from Class I to Class VIII. Both the State and Central governments conduct the TET; the states convene their own TET. The TET was introduced by the Government of India in the year 2011 and the objective was to enhance the teaching standards in India.

AP TET: Eligibility Criteria

To know about the eligibility criteria for Paper-I and Paper-II, refer to the following details.

For Paper-I

The candidates should pass Senior Secondary exams with minimum score of 50% aggregate marks

And

Must have passed, or be appearing for, the final year of the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or the 4-year Bachelor course in Elementary Education or the 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education programs.

Also, if the applicant has a Graduation degree and has passed or is pursuing the final year of the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education, then they can apply.

For Paper-II

The applicant has to complete Graduation in a relevant discipline and should pass, or be pursuing, the 2-year Diploma program in Elementary Education or the 1-year Bachelor course in Education or the

1-year Bachelor program in Education (Special Education) courses

Or

The aspirant must clear the Senior Secondary exams with at least 50% marks and pass or should be appearing for the final years of the 4-year Bachelor course in Elementary Education or the 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed Course or B.A Ed./B.Sc. Ed. Course

AP TET: Application Process

As per the dates declared for accepting applications, the AP TET aspirants must visit the official website for completing the application process. They should, first, click on the ‘Notifications’ tab and study the instructions thoroughly. The next step is to register by sharing a few basic details that includes a valid email address. Upon registering, they receive their login details on the given email address and, then, have to sign in to their accounts for downloading the Online Application Form.

Subsequently, they must fill the Application Form and follow by paying the Application Fee via Internet Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card. After completing the application formalities, they must review their applications and, then, select the ‘Submit’ tab.

Thereafter, the system displays the ‘Confirmation Page’ (that includes details such as the Candidate’s Application Number); for later reference, the applicants must take a print copy of the same.

AP TET: Admit Cards

After receiving all applications, the authorities shortlist the eligible candidates and release their Admit Cards on the official website. Admit Cards hold significance because they help to ascertain the candidate’s identity. The examining authorities check the candidates’ Admit Cards and only then allow them to give the exam. Thus, the aspirants are required to carry their respective Admit Cards and produce the same at the exam hall.

The candidates can access their Admit Cards by visiting the official website. They must click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ option on the site, after which they have to enter their details. They can, then, check and download their Admit Cards.

AP TET: Exam Pattern

Paper-I and Paper-II are conducted over 2.5 hours each where the candidates have to answer 150 multiple-choice questions. The questions have four options and the candidates score 1 mark for every correct option. Also, no negative marks are awarded for incorrect options.

Paper-I has five sections, carrying 30 marks each. These include Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Language-I, Language-II, and Child Pedagogy.
Paper-I contains four sections that include Maths & Science (for Maths & Science teachers) or Social Science (for Social Science teachers) for 60 marks, Language-I for 30 marks, Language-II for 30 marks, and Child Studies for 30 marks.

AP TET: Exam Result

The AP TET candidates can view their results online by browsing the official website and after the authorities declare the results. To check their results, they must select the ‘Download Exam Result’ tab and follow by entering a few details such as Application Number and Date of Birth. After doing so, they can access and download their results. Also, they must maintain a print copy for their records. Later, they receive the exam results via post as well.
