Daman and Diu Polytechnic Admission 2024: Dates, Merit List, Eligibility

Daman & Diu are grouped under one of India’s 7 union territories. The UT Administration of Daman & Diu which functions under the Government of India handles the affairs pertaining to technical education therein. Every year, the managing body invites applications for enrolling candidates in the UT’s Polytechnic Colleges. The Daman Polytechnic School is a government-based university. The University has affiliation with the Technical Review Committee and Technical Education Department. At the University, the aspiring candidates can avail a host of diploma courses, in various disciplines.

The Government Polytechnic in Daman has an array of teaching and learning techniques for imparting knowledge and skills to the pupils. The Institution was set up to impart theoretical knowledge and practical training to equip the students for working in industries.

Daman & Diu Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria

The applicants aspiring for admission in the Polytechnic programs have to clear the 10th standard exams, or equivalent, via recognized educational State/Central Boards. More so, they should have subjects such as Science, Mathematics, and English.

Additionally, they have to reside in Daman & Diu for 5 years or above. Besides, they must study in the Schools of Daman & Diu for 5 years before applying.

Daman & Diu Polytechnic Application Form

For applying to Government Polytechnic, Daman, the applicants can obtain the Prospectus and Application Form from the Institute’s Office.
Then, the candidates are required to fill in the Application Form with the required particulars. Further, they are to furnish their choices of colleges in the relevant columns of the Form. They must, also, submit the necessary documents and pay the applicable fee. It is necessary to submit the applications before the mentioned deadline as well.

Daman & Diu Selection Procedure

After the deadline for submitting applications expires, the authorities release the Interse Merit List on the Notice Board of the Polytechnic. As per the candidates’ eligibility and category, the Merit List is drawn.

Then, the concerned authorities consider the applicants’ profiles and their choices as well as merit standings and availability of seats, following which they allot seats.

The admissions are confirmed after the verification of the candidate’s original documents and completion of any pending application formalities.

In the cases of the candidates who have been provisionally selected, they are to visit the Institute. They have to, also, bring along their original educational certificates for the authorities to verify the same. Then, depending on their eligibility, they are considered for admissions.
