Chandigarh TET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

Chandigarh is a city and union territory of India where the Department of Education that works under the Chandigarh Administration has the responsibility of conducting the state-level Chandigarh Teachers Eligibility Test (Chandigarh TET). Under Chandigarh TET, the aspirants can apply to teacher positions at Primary (classes I-V) Levels and Upper Primary (classes VI-VIII) Levels. To apply for the Chandigarh TET, the aspirants can apply via the official website, www.chdeducation.gov.in.

The Chandigarh TET is convened at two levels that include Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is applicable for any candidate who wants to apply for Primary Level teacher posts; and Paper-II, for Upper Primary Level Teacher posts.

Note that qualifying Chandigarh TET does not guarantee recruitment as a teacher, only the candidate becomes eligible for teacher appointments.

Every year, in India, both the Central Government and State Government conduct the TET; the states hold their own TET. The Government of Indian started conducting the TET from the year 2011 onwards, having the aim of improving the country’s teaching standards.

Chandigarh TET: Eligibility Criteria

For Paper-I

The applicant must clear Class 12th exams with at least 45% aggregate marks. Also, they have to complete the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education.

Or

He/she should pass Standard 12th exams with minimum 50% aggregate marks and complete the 4-year Bachelor course of Elementary Education or the 2-year Diploma program in Education (Special Education). Even if the applicant is pursuing the final years of the above-listed courses, they can apply.

For Paper-II

The aspirant should have a BA/BSc/BCom degree and must have passed or be pursuing the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education.

Or

He/she must score at least 45% aggregate marks in BA/BSc/BCom and has to be pass or be appearing for the 1-year Bachelor program in Education or the 1-year Bachelor course in Education (Special Education).

Or

He/she must pass the 12th Standard exams with minimum 50% aggregate marks and must pass or be appearing for the final year of the 4-year BAEd or BScEd courses.

Chandigarh TET: Application Process

The Chandigarh TET authorities accept only online applications. Thus, any Chandigarh TET aspirant has to visit the official website for submitting their application. First, they must register on the site by sharing a few details such as email address. They receive their login credentials on their email address after completing the registration process.

The next step is to sign in to their accounts for downloading the Application Form. Thereafter, they must fill in the required fields in the Application Form. Also, they are required to pay the Application Fee.

The subsequent step is to review their applications and follow by submitting their applications by selecting the ‘Submit’ option. The system, then, is directed to the Confirmation Page, after which they must take a print copy for record purposes.

Chandigarh TET: Admit Card

The Chandigarh TET aspirants must note that to appear for the exam they are required to show their Admit Cards at the exam venue. They can access their Admit Cards via the official website after the authorities upload the same. They receive intimation of the dates on which the Admit Cards are downloadable.

They can download their Admit Cards by clicking on the ‘Download Admit Card’ option. Then, they have to enter details as prompted by the system. After they input their details correctly, the system displays their Admit Cards and they should maintain a print copy to carry to the exam hall. Here, the authorities will check the candidate’s Admit Cards and, subsequently, permit them to give the exam.

Chandigarh TET: Exam Pattern

The duration of Paper-I and Paper-II is 2 hours and 30 minutes each. Both papers contain 150 multiple-choice questions where each question has four options. Upon selecting the correct option, the candidate scores 1 mark and no negative marks are deducted for incorrect options.

For Paper-I, the candidates have to answer five sections. These include Language-I, Language-II, Environmental Sciences, Child Pedagogy, and Mathematics. Each section of Paper-I carries 30 marks.
For Paper-II, the four sections include Language-I of 30 marks, Language-II of 30 marks, Child Studies of 30 marks, and Mathematics / Science (applies for Maths & Science teachers) or Social Science and any other subject (applies for Social Science or any other teachers) of 60 marks.

Chandigarh TET: Exam Result

The candidates can view their Chandigarh TET results online via the official website. Only they are required to click on the ‘Download Exam Result’ option, following which they are prompted to enter some basic details. Then, they can download their results. However, they should have a print copy of their exam results for reference purposes as well.
