Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi

Established during the year 1959, the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is a prestigious medical institute that has affiliation to the University of Delhi. MAMC is traced to New Delhi, India, and was built to honor the memory of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad; he was a well-known educationist and patriot. This premier medical college has various departments that specialize in education, training, and research. Among the MAMC departments are Radiotherapy, Pediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Orthopedic, microbiology, radio-diagnosis, among others.

Courses

At the MAMC, students can enrol for a variety of courses. The MAMC conducts courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and post-doctoral levels. The aspirants can also choose among various specializations under the different courses. Some of the courses that MAMC has provisions for are MCh, Diploma, MS, MD, and MBBS – to list a few. 

The MAMC admissions ensue on the basis of candidate’s scores in various entrance exams. For admitting students into the MBBS course, the authorities consider their NEET scores. To admit pupils into the Diploma, MS, and MD programs, the applicants’ marks in NEET PG are considered. And on the basis of candidate’s scores in the NEET-SS, they get admissions in the MCh specialization courses.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility norms for the UG courses that MAMC holds require the candidate to clear the Class XII exam in Science stream. Plus, they should get at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

For admissions in the undergraduate-level, 5.5-year MBBS course, the candidate has to also qualify NEET and the counseling rounds.

For admissions in the PG courses, the applicant has to secure an MBBS degree and complete 1 year of internship.

To pursue the MCh course, the aspirant has to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant stream.
