Nehru Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Delhi

The Nehru Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital (NHMC&H) was founded during the year 1965 and has an attached hospital. The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi manages both the institutions. The NHMC&H is situated within Defence Colony in New Delhi and offers homeopathic medical education, along with healthcare facilities. Since the year 1992, this premier institution bears affiliation with the University of Delhi and conducts homeopathic medicine courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Through the NHMC&H programs, the students become familiar with homeopathic principles and advanced scientific methods.

Also, over the years, the NHMC&H has risen to become a reputed name in Homeopathic education while providing quality healthcare services. The institution offers free medical facilities to the public as well.

Courses
At the institute, aspirants can submit their applications for the 5.5-year, full-time, undergraduate BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) program. To be eligible for the BHMS course, the applicant should pass with 60% marks in 10+2 exam and study any one subject among English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Additionally, the College has provisions for the full-time,2-year Doctorate of Medicine (MD) course. Under MD courses, the students have a choice in 3 specializations. These include Homeopathic Practice of Medicine, Organon of Medicine, and Materia-medicia.

As part of the eligibility criteria for the College PG courses, the applicants have to appear and, also, qualify the All India PG Entrance Test that the DU conducts.

Additionally, for the PG courses, 50% of the total seats are maintained for applicants who have cleared the BHMS from DU (Delhi quota). The rest 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates who have completed the BHMS programs from other universities except the DU (All India quota).

Aspiring candidates must register online while providing the mandatory details. Also, they have the option of applying for numerous programs.

The University portal displays the cut-off marks for the varied programs. Subsequently, the aspirants who meet the given criteria are eligible to apply.

The NHMC&H offers an array of facilities for promoting the students’ all-round development. The campus offers medical care facilities, laboratories, sports grounds, among others. Additionally, a well-maintained library having a plethora of books and journals is available to the pupils.
