BITSAT Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result 2023

The Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani, convenes the computer-based Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) every year. BITSAT qualifies the aspiring candidates for admissions into the undergraduate-level engineering courses that are offered by the three BITS campuses: Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. 

Applicants who are seeking admission into the BPharm, MSc, and BE courses that the participating colleges offer should apply for the BITSAT. However, they must ensure they satisfy the eligibility criteria before applying; else, their applications will be rejected.

BITSAT: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For the BITS First Degree programs (except BPharm (Hons))

The applicant has to pass the 10+2 exam (or any equivalent exam) from a recognized educational board, having subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM). Also, he /she should be proficient in English.

The candidate must secure at least 75% aggregate marks in PCM subjects while scoring at least 60% marks in each of the PCM subjects.

For BPharm admissions

He/she is required to pass the 10+2 examination (or equivalent examination) from any recognized State/Central education boards, with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). More so, English proficiency is a must to apply.

Candidates have to get at least 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) subjects (if they are PCMB students, then Maths is also added to the list), with minimum score of 60% in each of the PCB subjects (Including Maths, if they are PCMB students).

Note:

If the aspirant is appearing for the Class XII exam, then also they are eligible to apply. They have to, however, give proof of passing the exam during the selection rounds.

BITSAT: Syllabus

The questions in BITSAT contain questions from Classes 11 and 12. Candidates must study from Class 11 and 12 NCERT books to prepare for BITSAT. Moreover, BITSAT mock exams are provided to applicants who register successfully.

BITSAT: Exam Pattern

BITSAT has a 3-hour duration and comprises of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the following subjects. The medium of instruction of the BITSAT is English and the test carries a total of 450 marks.

For each correct answer, the candidate scores 3 marks; and for incorrect responses, 1 mark is deducted from the candidate’s score tally.

The candidates are given different question papers, where the questions are randomly selected from an extensive database of exam papers.

BITSAT: Admission Process

Follow the below-listed steps to apply for BITSAT.

#Step 1 Fill the online application form

The BITSAT official website is https://www.bitsadmission.com. Aspiring candidates are required to register on the site. Subsequently, they receive their login credentials, after which they have to sign in to their respective accounts for downloading and filling the online application form. 

Uploading the mandatory documents and paying the application fee are other requisites for applying. After completing and submitting their applications, the system generates the ‘Confirmation Page’. Take a print copy of this page for record purposes.

As part of the application process, the applicants have to furnish three preferences of test centers for taking the exam too.

#Step 2

Book Slot

The BITSAT authorities allot a test center to the candidate, which is one of the three preferences as mentioned in their application. Next, the applicant has to book a slot (either Morning or Evening slot) upon the official website.

# Step 3 Access Admit Card

Admit Card is compulsory to carry to the exam hall. The Admit Cards of the BITSAT applicants are uploaded on the official website by the examiners. The candidates are also informed about the dates on which they can download their Admit Cards. The applicants should check if all details are correct in the Admit Card before the exam date. In case of any discrepancies, they have to contact the authorities, who will make the required changes.

#Step 4 Appear for the exam

To perform well in the BITSAT, the candidates should take regular mock tests and get enough practice from the past years’ sample question papers. Also, they must reach the exam hall on time on the exam date, with their Admit Cards.

#Step 5 Check Result

The BITSAT results are released on the official website on the stipulated dates. The candidates must sign in to their accounts for accessing the Admit List and Waiting List.
