Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE) Result 2023

The Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, conducts the Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE) in April every year at the national level. The KEE is convened for admitting students in to the BTech courses that the Institute holds on its campus and other affiliated institutes.

Aspiring candidates can apply for BTech programs in various fields via KEE. These include Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Media Technology, Bio-informatics, Biotechnology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Biochemical and Food Technology, among others.

Note that the various courses differ in eligibility norms and the candidate must study the given criteria and apply only if they are eligible for the stipulated course.

KEE: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For BTech Courses

To be eligible for the KEE, the candidates must pass the 10+2 exam (or equivalent ones). Also, they have to score minimum 60% marks in Maths, Chemistry, and Physics to be eligible.

Or

He/she has to pass the Class 10+2 vocational stream with at least 60% in PCM subjects.

For Biotechnology & Food Processing Technology

The applicant has to pass Class XII exams while scoring minimum 60% marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Even if they have passed the Class 12th exam with at least 60% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, they are eligible to apply.

For B.Sc. Agriculture

He /she should pass the Class 10+2 examination in Agriculture, PCMB, PCB, or PCM while scoring minimum 60% aggregate marks.

For B.Sc. Horticulture

The aspirant should clear the Class XII exam in Inter Agriculture, PC Forestry, PCMB, PCB, or PCM. More so, they are required to score at least 60% aggregate marks to be eligible to apply.

Even if the applicant is appearing for the qualifying exams, they are invited to apply. 

Age Limit

He / she has to be at least 21 years. 

KEE: Syllabus and Exam Pattern

A computer-based test, KEE is conducted over 2.5 years, having 100 questions totaling 100 marks.

The KEE syllabus comprises PCM subjects from Classes XI and XII.

The KEE follows a negative marking system, where the candidate’s score is cut by 0.25 for wrong answers.

Part A: Mathematics / Biology (45 questions, 45 marks, 60 minutes)

Part B: Physics (15 questions, 15 marks, 20 minutes)

Part C: Chemistry (15 questions, 15 marks, 20 minutes)

Part D: General Aptitude (15 questions, 15 marks, 30 minutes)

Part E: General Ethics (10 questions, 10 marks, 20 minutes)

KEE: How to apply?

The KEE authorities accept online applications. Aspirants have to browse the official website www.karunya.edu to submit their applications. First, they have to register on the site after sharing some personal details. As part of the registration process, they have to state the course preferences as well. Then, they get their login credentials via phone or mail.

With their login details, they have to login to their account to access the online application form. The next step is to provide all the requisite details. They have to also submit the filled application forms and upload mandatory documents. Moreover, they have to tender the Application Fee.
