VITEEE Syllabus, Eligibility, Admit Card, Counseling and Exam Result 2022

The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) is administered by the VIT every year. The VITEEE aspirants who want to get admissions in the various undergraduate-level engineering programs that the participating colleges offer are invited to apply. The Institute conducts an array of BE and BTech programs. And the candidates can apply for the varied courses as per their preferences; only they must meet the given eligibility criteria to apply. 

Under BE programs that the Institute provides are the ones on Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology, Bio-Medical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering – to name a few.

Among the BTech courses that can be availed at the Institute are Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

VITEEE: Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification

The candidate has to complete his/her Class XII exam while scoring at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Maths / Biology, and Chemistry (PCM/PCB).

If any candidate is applying via the scheduled castes category, then they have to clear their Class XII exam and score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in PCM / PCB. This eligibility criterion applies also to students who are residents of some Indian states. These include Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Candidates who have studied subjects including Maths, Physics, and Chemistry are eligible to apply for all programs.

Applicants with qualifications in subjects including Biology, Maths, and Physics are eligible to apply only for BTech programs with specializations in Biotechnology, Bio-Medical Engineering, and Bioinformatics.

If any aspirant is appearing for the Class XII exam, then they can apply as well, albeit on a provisional basis.

  • Age Limit

The candidate has to be 21 years or above to apply for the VITEEE.

  • Nationality

Only Resident Indians, Non-Resident Indians, and PIO holders are eligible to apply for the VITEEE.

VITEEE: Exam Pattern

The VITEEE is an online test, has a total of 125 objective-type questions, and runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes. For incorrect answers, the examiners do not cut marks.

The VITEEE has different sections including Physics (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions), English (5 questions), Maths / Biology (40 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), and Physics (35 questions).

VITEEE: How to apply?

The VITEEE aspiring candidates have to submit their online applications on the official website, www.vit.ac.in, to apply. They must follow the given instructions and submit their applications before the given deadline.

The Institute accepts both online and offline applications. If applying offline, the applicants should collect the application form from the post office or VIT Campuses.

For applying online for the VITEEE, the candidate should visit the official website and register for the exam. As part of the registration process, they must furnish their basic personal details. They must provide a valid email address for correspondence as well. Then, they receive their registration ID for logging into their respective accounts.

The next step is to sign in to your account and furnish the requisite details. Then, the system displays a Confirmation Page that contains all their registration details. Make sure to keep a print copy of the Confirmation Page for your records.

The VITEEE authorities will accept applications only before the given deadline.

VITEEE: Admit Card

After the last date for receiving applications expires, the authorities upload the admit cards of the shortlisted candidates on the official website. To access their respective Admit Cards, the applicant has to log in to their account and follow by taking a print copy. They must carry their Admit Card to the exam hall so the examiners can ascertain their identity.

VITEEE: Appear for Exam

The aspirant must reach the exam hall on the exam date and carry a valid identification proof and admit card.

Following the exam date, the candidates who qualify the exam are invited for the counseling rounds. Depending on their performance in the exam, they are ranked accordingly.

VITJEEE: Exam Result

The results of the VITJEE are listed on the official website on the stipulated dates. The candidates can check their ranks after they sign into their accounts. They must download their Scorecard and take a printout.

VITEEE: Counseling Rounds

The dates of the counseling rounds are informed to the selected candidates. The applicants have to go for the counseling rounds and carry all the required documents.

As part of the counseling rounds, the examiners allot seats to the selected candidates. The performance of the applicant, availability of seats, and choices are considered, after which the seat allotment process ensues.

Next, the candidate is required to go to the center where they get admission to complete all the pending formalities.
