The managing body of the vocational training centres in India’s Arunachal Pradesh state is the Department of Industries, Itanagar. During the 1950s, the Craftsmen Scheme was put forward by the Directorate General of Training (DGT) to set up a series of post-secondary schools – including the government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and privately owned Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) – across the different Indian states, with the objective of rendering skill-based training.

Depending on the educational qualifications of the aspirants, they can apply for the varied trade programs (including the engineering and non-engineering ones) to become technically trained professionals in the chosen trades.

On the national level, the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) is the advisory body that frames the regulations for running the vocational training centres. The State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) is part of the NCVT and conducts programs at the state level. The SCVT acts as per the guidelines of the NCVT.

At the national and state level, there are certain trade programs that the aspiring candidates can apply for. Upon completion of the courses, accordingly, they are awarded the National Trade Certificates or State Level Trade Certificates (SLTC), based on which they are eligible to apply for national-level or state-level jobs.

The NCVT / SCVT trade courses are conducted in 4 semesters i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ones. The students who have appeared for the respective exams can download their results, semester-wise, from the DGT’s official website, http://indarun.gov.in/index.htm. Only by entering some basic details, they can check their results.
