The managing body that is responsible for conducting the admission process in the various Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the Indian state of Punjab is the Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training. A series of engineering and non-engineering programs are held at the ITI colleges, and the applicants can apply as per the eligibility norms.
The eligibility criteria require the applicants to be permanent residents of Punjab. Also, they should have passed their 10th or 12th standard exams from recognized boards. Those candidates who are looking to pursue engineering trades are required to have subjects such as science and mathematics in the qualifying exams.
The official website for applying to the Punjab-based ITI centres is https://itipunjab.nic.in/genregsys/Candidate/Default.aspx#. Within the given deadline, the applicants should apply for the ITI courses by filling out the online application form. Thereafter, they are required to visit the nearby ITI centres to verify their documents. However, they must carry along a print copy of the completed online application form as well. After the document verification process, the aspirants have to fill in their choice of colleges.
Post the deadline for the submission of applications, the ITI authorities will release the merit list. Based on the candidates’ scores in the qualifying exams, the merit list is prepared. The ITI authorities do not hold any entrance tests for the admission of students.
As per the merit list, the candidates have to attend the counselling rounds. There are 3 rounds of counselling that are held. In the first counselling round, if the candidates do not secure a seat, they can attend the subsequent counselling rounds.
Afterward, the college allotment letters are issued to the candidates; and they have to produce the documents at the respective ITI colleges. After completing the rest of the admission formalities, they can attend the classes as scheduled.
