Ordnance Factory Board invites applications for filling 6060 apprentice positions

The Ordnance Factory Recruitment Centre (OFRC), operating under the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), has notified about filling 6060 trade apprentice vacancies in the Ordnance and Ordnance Equipment Factories spanning India. The OFB functions under the Ministry of Defence of the Government of India.

The aspiring candidates can submit their online applications via the official website, ofb.gov.in. The relevant authorities will start accepting registrations from January 10, 2020. And the last date for submitting applications is February 9, 2020.

The 6060 vacancies are inclusive of 3847 in the ITI category while 2219 come under the non-ITI category. The recruitment of Trade Apprentices is scheduled under the OFB’s Skill India Mission.

Education Qualification

Non-ITI Category: He/she should pass Class X exams (or equivalent ones) with at least 50% aggregate marks. Also, they have to score 40% in Science and Mathematics subjects, individually.

ITI Category: The applicant is required to pass stipulated trade tests from institutes that SCVT and NCVT recognize. Also, authorities that are mentioned in the Gazette notifications of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship coming under the Ministry of Labour and Employment as per the duration specified in the Apprentice Act 1961 are acceptable. Besides, the aspirant has to clear Class X or equivalent examinations. Further, they should score minimum 50% aggregate marks in both ITI and matriculation.

Age Limit 

To be eligible, the candidates have to be between the ages of 15-24 years as of February 9, 2020. In accordance with government regulations, specific category candidates can avail upper age limit relaxation.
