The Graphic Era Hill University (GEHU) has campuses at Bhimtal and Dehradun in India’s Uttarakhand state and was set up during the year 2008 by the Government of Uttarakhand that granted the ‘Deemed to be University’ status to the institution. In the year 1996, the University’s founder, Prof (Dr) Kamal Ghanshala, established the Graphic Era Institute that, later, was given ‘Deemed University’ status and came to be known as GEHU. The University’s affiliation with the University Grants Commission empowers the center to confer degrees to the pupils after course completion. Catering to the academic interests of the aspirants, GEHU provides a range of undergraduate, doctoral, and postgraduate programs to choose from. They have a choice across disciplines such as computer applications, allied sciences, architecture & planning, engineering & technology, commerce & law, humanities & social sciences, and management.

GEHU is promoted by the non-profit organization, the Graphic Era Educational Society that started operations in the year 1997. The Society aims to impart quality education for the state residents so they can contribute to the state’s development and in turn, earn their means of livelihood as well.

GEHU’s campus is equipped with all the facilities to foster the all-round development of the students. A host of recreational, social, and cultural activities are organized for the pupils to partake in, too. Also, the center has collaborated with international universities to facilitate student exchange programs.

The various amenities that are offered by GEHU are mess, sports arenas, hostels, guest houses, cafeteria, and transport services. Also, additional benefits like placements and scholarships are extended by the educational institution.
