The Nalanda University in the state of Bihar is the only university in the state that offers education through the distance learning mode. Located in the capital city of Patna, it was established in March 1987 and is named after the famous ancient university of the country. At present it operates from Biscomaun Bhawan, Patna and has a fully equipped office spreading in the area of 60,000Sq.feet. It is also recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), UGC and Ministry of HRD, Government of India, for imparting education through distance mode.

It has opened 28 study centres around Bihar and Jharkhand and some of the important cities and towns of these states catering education needs of every section of society. Any eligible person can apply for admission to his choicest course and can obtain the prospectus through the Demand Draft of Rs. 300 from the sales counter of the university. The courses offered by the university include PhD, MCA, MBA, BBA, BCA, postgraduate diplomas and certificates in various science and arts subjects. Each course consists of theory as well as practical examination where the written examination carries 80 marks and the practical is of 20 marks. The examination in the written part of each theory paper is of 3 hour duration and apart from a few courses students may choose to answer either in Hindi or English medium.

Nalanda Open University (NOU), based in the Patna city of the Indian state of Bihar, releases the exam results of its varied affiliated courses on its official website, http://www.nou.ac.in/. Any candidate who appears for the semester or annual exams of the NOU courses should visit its official portal to view their result.

After the NOU declares the examination results, you have to browse its official web portal. Start by searching for the “Exam Results” section on the website home page. Next, you should click on the relevant result link under this section. After this, you will be taken to the “Results” page, where again you have to select the result link. Subsequently, the system will exhibit your exam result on the screen. As always, taking a print copy of your NOU exam result is mandatory for your records.
