The University of Pennsylvania or the Penn University is traceable to the University City district of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Although this prestigious educational institution was set up in the year 1740, the University started conducting academic sessions from the year 1751 onwards.

The University comes under the US Education System and is a private Ivy League research-based university. At the University, candidates can apply for a host of undergraduate, doctoral, and graduate courses. Also, the university is hailed for being one of the oldest advanced education centers in the United States.

The founder of this university is Benjamin Franklin, and the firm Cope and Steward Son are the designers.

The international student population at the University of Pennsylvania is about 16%; they hail from varied countries globally.

Plus, the acceptance rate of the Penn University is approximately 9%.

Among the popular subjects that students pursue at the University are Social Sciences, Marketing, Management, Medicine, Business, Engineering, and Biology.

The University has four undergraduate schools that offer about 99 undergraduate courses in different disciplines such as Natural Engineering, Humanities, Business, and Sciences.

In addition, the University campus houses 12 professional and graduate schools, some of which offer dual degree courses in various specializations.

Penn University has been awarded 6th rank in the listing of Best National Universities by the US News and World Report 2020.

Courses

The University of Pennsylvania conducts an array of courses in different disciplines for international students. Aspiring candidates can choose from undergraduate majors to undergraduate certificate courses to Master’s courses to doctoral ones to graduate certificate and minor courses.

Among undergraduate-level courses, the University offers programs such as the BSc in Nursing, BSc in Computer Science, BSc in Bioengineering, BSc in Chemistry, among others.

Under graduate-level courses, candidates can apply for courses like the MS in Electrical Engineering, MSc in Architecture, and MSc in Robotics – to list a few.

The University offers the MBA course in different specializations, including Finance.

Campus

Penn University operates from 3 campuses. The West Philadelphia campus spreads across 299 acres of land and contains 217 buildings. The New Bolton Center campus spans 694 acres of land and boasts of 11 buildings. The Morris Arboretum campus extends over 92 acres of land and is supported by 33 buildings.

The College also provides residential facilities to the pupils. Among the residential halls of the University are 12 undergraduate college houses. More so, the campus has 1 graduate apartment that is the Sansom place.
