by The Government of NCT of Delhi (erstwhile, the Delhi Administration) constituted the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College (SBSEC). The SBSEC started operations in the year 1973. Also, the College is named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He was one of the main revolutionaries of the Independence Movement of India. The SBSEC bears affiliation and is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. The College caters to the higher education needs of the employed groups. The SBSEC is traceable to the South of Delhi in the vicinity of the Sheikh Sarai Phase-II and has a suitable learning environment.
The College offers courses at undergraduate levels in Social Sciences, Arts and Commerce streams. Moreover, the NAAC has accredited the SBSEC with the ‘A’ grade.
Besides, the College faculty team are qualified and guide the pupils to develop their all-round personality. They ensure that students engage in both academics and activities in a balanced way.
Courses
At SBSEC, aspirants can apply for Bachelor of Arts, Bachelors of Arts (Hons), Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) programs. Under BA (Hons) courses, the College holds courses in the fields of Political Science and Geography.
To secure admission in the UG courses, the applicants have to pass the Higher Secondary Exam. The College authorities release the cut-off marks and grant admissions on merit basis. They consider the candidate’s scores in the pre-qualifying examination to shortlist candidates.
Amenities
The SBSEC campus offers an array of facilities. The College Library is a storehouse of books and educational resources to facilitate learning. Further, the pupils can avail computer laboratories, with Wi-Fi connectivity.
Among other amenities, the College has instituted a Placement Cell to help students find suitable placements. More so, for encouraging their participation in extracurricular activities, the College Cultural and Sports Councils organize a range of events regularly.
Aside from that, the College pupils have canteens, medical care, sports grounds, among other amenities.
