Government Girls College, Barwani

The Government Girls College in the Barwani tehsil, which is located in the Barwani district of India’s Madhya Pradesh state, was set up in the year 1984. The department of Madhya Pradesh oversees the functioning of the college. Also, this girls-only college has affiliation to the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The NAAC has accredited this college with the “C” grade.

The Barwani Girls college was started to empower females who hail from the tribal areas. The college offers undergraduate courses in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce.

Courses
The Government Girls college in Barwani offers the 3-year, full-time Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) programs.

The BA course offers specializations in subjects including Home Science, Sociology, Political Science, English, Economics, Hindi, and Computer Applications.

Under the BCom program, students can specialize in Applied Economics, Management, and Accounts.
The various specializations as part of the BSc courses are Maths, Microbiology, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Computer Science, among others.

In addition, the college offers different specializations under the BSc (Home Science) and MSc (Home Science) courses.

Amenities
The Barwani Government Girls College has a campus size of 15 acres. A host of infrastructural facilities are provided on the college campus for the pupils. These include a canteen, computer laboratories, purified drinking water, and a multipurpose hall. More so, the College library is well-equipped with a host of reference books and other educational aids.

Additionally, the college campus has facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. When taking a break from academics, students can take part in games like basketball, badminton, volleyball, and hockey – to list a few.
