Govt Aranya Bharti College, Baihar

The year 1966 marks the establishment of the Government Aranya Bharti College (GABC) in Baihar in the Balaghat district of India’s Madhya Pradesh state. Mr. P. B. Paliwal founded the college as a private institute under the name Aranya Bharati Vidyapeeth. Initially, the college was affiliated to Dr. Hari Singh Gour University in Sagar. The Government of Madhya Pradesh took over the Aranya Bharati Vidyapeeth in the year 1983 and renamed it GABC. The GABC has affiliation with the Rani Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, situated in Jabalpur city in Madhya Pradesh, since the year 1996. The GABC was set up to provide higher education to the impoverished classes that reside in and around the Balaghat district.

At the GABC, aspirants can pursue courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the three main fields of higher studies: Arts, Commerce, and Studies.

Courses
The GABC conducts the undergraduate-level Bachelor of Arts and postgraduate-level Master of Arts courses. Under the Science stream, the college offers programs including the Bachelor of Science at the undergraduate level and the Master of Science at the postgraduate level. In the Commerce field, the college accepts applications for the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce and postgraduate Master of Commerce programs.

Amenities
To facilitate the overall development of the college students, the GABC offers a range of infrastructural facilities on the 17-acre campus. Playgrounds and internet connectivity are among some amenities that the college provides. Also, the college library contains a collection of books for the pupils’ reference. More so, the college campus houses laboratories and computer hubs.
