Government Girls College Betul

The year 1986 marks the establishment of the Government Girls College in Betul, traceable to the Betul district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The Government of Madhya Pradesh set up this girls-only college for empowering the tribal populace via quality education. The “B+” grade has been accredited to this Betul college by the NAAC.

At the onset, this college was affiliated to Sagar University, which has been renamed to Dr. Harisingh Gour University; this central university is located in the Sagar city of Madhya Pradesh. However, since the year 1995, this Betul government college enjoys affiliation with the Barkatullah University of Bhopal city in Madhya Pradesh.

Initially, the college had only the Arts faculty. The Commerce and Home Science faculties started functioning in the years 2000 and 2003 respectively.

Presently, the college is offering courses in the streams of Commerce, Home Science, and Arts streams up to graduation level. Among postgraduate-level programs, the college is offering courses in Social Work and Home Science.

Courses
Among the undergraduate-level courses that the Government Girls College, Betul, is conducting include the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce with Computer Application, and Bachelor of Home Science (BHSc).

The postgraduate-level programs that the college offers are the Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Masters in Home Science (MHSc).

Amenities
The campus of the Government Girls College in Betul spans 3 acres of land. Some facilities that the students can avail on campus are internet connectivity and a canteen. Furthermore, the college library has a rich collection of reference books.
