by The Motilal Nehru Medical College (MNMC was established in the year 1961 to honor the memory of Pandit Motilal Nehru. Located in Allahabad in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the MNMC was founded by Dr Rajendra Prasad, who was the first President of India. Also, this prestigious medical college bears affiliation with the Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University in Kanpur and has the approval of the Medical Council of India. The MNMC is equipped to conduct a variety of courses in the field of medicine. As such, aspirants can apply for various Diploma, Bachelor-level, and Master-level courses in different specializations.
The Government of India has plans of upgrading the institute, under which the Central Government and State Government will bear 80% and 20% of the total development costs.
Courses
Among the host of courses in the medical stream that the MNMC conducts are the MBBS, Master of Science, DM, Master of Surgery, and DM in Gastroenterology.
Eligibility Criteria
For the MBBS Course
Candidates who are seeking admission in the MBBS course of the MNMC are required to clear the Higher School Senior Secondary examination from any recognized State/Central Education Board. Further, the qualifying marks are 50% aggregate in the qualifying exam.
Plus, the applicant has to secure the minimum cut-off marks in the NEET-UG examination to qualify for MBBS admission.
Admission Process
For admissions to the first year of the MBBS degree course, the student intake is 200 every year. Out of the total 200 pupils, 180 students secure admission via the state quota as per the UP state rank in the NEET and the rest 20 students get admission via the all India counseling on the basis of pan-India rank in the NEET.
