Nalsar University of Law is commonly known as the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) which is a premier educational institution for the legal studies. Established in 1998, this University is located in the historical city of Hyderabad in the Indian State of Telangana. This Law University is founded by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh and since its inception this has been the center of important discussion upon law and justice. The main objective of Nalsar University of Law is to use Law as a weapon to change the society and fight for legal rights, land rights, disability empowerment and against moral policing and hate speech.

The university is a fully residential and imparts teaching in law is ranked as the best law school in India by India Today magazine in 2013.
