by On August 28, 2014, the Spicer Adventist University (SAU) was inaugurated and is traceable to Pune city in India’s Maharashtra state. SAU is a private university and conforms to the Seventh-day Adventist education system that is advocated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. SAU comes under the Ashlock Education Society and the global Seventh-day Adventist Church’s South Asia Division which is one of the 13th largest divisions of the Church, having a network of several educational institutions and providing higher education to a considerable percentage of the human population globally.
Moreover, the University’s roots are traced to the year 1915 and thus, has a rich legacy of 100 years. Also, previously SAU was known as Spicer Memorial College which later gained ‘University’ status.
SAU proposes an array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of medicine and other allied sectors.
Stationed on approximately 16 acres of land of a total of a 70-acre country estate, SAU’s campus is lined with trees and lush green gardens, thereby, making the center ideal for the dissemination of knowledge. The University premises are equipped with academic blocks, hostels, a House of Prayer, health care, a library, parks, sports complexes, confectionery, recreational rooms, and a Student Centre – to name a few.
