Deshbandhu College, Delhi

Set up in the year 1952 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, the Deshbandhu College was developed in the memory of one of the veteran freedom fighters of India, Lala Deshbandhu Gupta. Later, the College was managed by the Ministry of Education and, now, comes under the University of Delhi. The official website of Deshbandhu College is www.deshbandhucollege.ac.in.

The College is recognized to be one of the oldest co-educational institution offering courses in Science, Commerce and Arts streams in South Delhi.

Further, for complementing academics, the College hosts sports events, workshops, lectures, seminars, among other co-curricular activities.

With a dedicated team of faculty members coupled with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities, the College works to provide a fulfilling learning experience to the pupils.

Courses
Aspiring candidates can enrol for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the College. They can apply for programs in different fields such as Commerce, Mathematics, Economics, Political Science, History, literature, among others. Also, the College has courses in major branches of Science.

Admission Process
As part of the admission process, the authorities release the cut-off marks for the varied streams – including Humanities, Commerce, and Science. And applications are invited from candidates who secure qualifying scores, pertaining to the field they are applying to. Also, admissions are given on merit basis to the eligible candidates. The cut-off marks vary for the different categories of applicants.

Among the several amenities that the College offers the students are laboratories, auditoriums, seminar halls, gymnasiums, banks, medical centers, botanical gardens – to name a few.
