Punjab Polytechnic 2024 Exam: Admission, Dates, Merit List, Eligibility

In the Indian state of Punjab, the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training (PSBTE & IT) that is based at Chandigarh provides technical education within the state. From the year 2016 onwards, there is no exam that is conducted for admitting students into the Polytechnic courses. They can apply to the Punjab Joint Entrance Test (JET) that is the state-level admission process in the state. As part of the admission procedure, the authorities consider the scores of the applicants in the qualifying exam, following which the online counseling rounds ensue. Depending on their overall performance, the aspirants are allotted seats in the government-run and privately-managed Polytechnic colleges.

It is important to note that there are different eligibility norms for the varied courses. For this reason, the aspirants should study the criteria carefully and apply only if they qualify.

Punjab JET Application Form

The JET Application Form is made available in the month of May. To apply for Punjab JET, the candidates can obtain the Application Form by downloading the same from the official site. However, they have to register on the website beforehand. In the Application Form, all the necessary particulars have to be filled in. More so, the candidate has to upload the required documents.

The applicant must render the Application Fee, as well. They can pay via various online modes of payment such as debit card, credit card, and internet banking.

After submitting their applications, the candidates must take a print copy of the Application Form. More importantly, they must apply before the stipulated deadline.

Punjab JET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility norms are listed below:

Nationality: Has to be an Indian National

Domicile: Must furnish valid domicile of Punjab state

Age Limit: No upper age limit is mentioned.

Qualifications:

Qualifying Examination: The candidate has to clear the Matriculation exam from recognized education Boards.

Subjects: The subjects should include English, Maths, and Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)

Minimum Marks: Must score a minimum of 35% marks in the qualifying exam.

The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination may also apply.

Punjab JET Result/Merit 2023

After receiving the applications, the examining authorities prepare the Merit List. The aspirants can visit the official site to view their ranks. On the basis of their marks in the Matriculation exam, they are given ranks. They have to enter their roll number to view their ranks. Subsequently, based on the Merit List, they have to attend the counseling rounds.

Punjab JET Counseling

The counseling rounds of the Punjab DET take place through online mode. During June, the counseling sessions are conducted; there are 2 rounds in all. The candidates, on their part, have to fill in their choices with respect to colleges and courses. On the basis of their ranks, the authorities grant admissions to the respective applicants.

They counseling schedule is printed in newspapers and viewable on the official website. The shortlisted candidates do not receive any intimation via letters. Note that no counseling fee has to be paid.

Punjab JET Admission

The Punjab JET seat matrix consists of 85% seats for Punjab’s permanent residents; the remainder of the 15% seats comes under the management quota that is for the All India students. The admission procedure is solely on merit basis.
