Having started operations during the year 2010, the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) in Jalukbari in Guwahati specializes in Science and Technology courses. The ASTU is a State University that was set up by the Government of Assam. And to improve the quality of education in the fields of Technology and Research, the ASTU has partnered with the Curtin University in Perth in Western Australia.
Also, the ASTU has accreditation from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Plus, the AICTE lays down the guidelines for courses that the ASTU conducts. Moreover, the ASTU has 18 affiliated colleges.
At the ASTU, aspiring candidates can apply for undergraduate-level, postgraduate-level, and doctoral-level courses in various streams. These include Planning & Design, Architecture, Management, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, among others.
Among the courses that the ASTU conducts are MBA, BBA, MSc, BSc, MTech, BTech, MArch, BPharm, and BArch.
As per the eligibility criteria for the UG courses that the ASTU offers, the candidates have to clear the Class XII exam. And to be eligible to apply for the PG programs at ASTU, the aspirants should secure a Bachelor’s degree.
However, to select candidates for the BTech and MTech programs that the ASTU offers, the applicants’ scores in the Assam CEE and GATE, respectively, are considered by the University authorities. For the rest of the ASTU courses, the applicant’s marks in the qualifying examinations are considered.
To apply for the ASTU courses, the candidates should visit the official website. They have to follow by filling in the online application form. Further, they are required to upload the necessary documents and remit the application fee.
Depending on the course that the candidate is applying for to the ASTU, the ASTU authorities will admit pupils on merit basis and as per their performance in the relevant entrance exam or qualifying exam.
