In the state of West Bengal, the body that regulates the admission process of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) is the ‘West Bengal State Council for Vocational Training’ (WBSCVT). To qualify for admission in the various ITI trade courses, the applicants have to submit the OMR application form via online or offline mode.

The eligible candidates are needed to clear the state-level entrance test to gain admission to the various ITI colleges. For online applications and to remain updated on the latest notifications, the official website http://www.wbscvt.net/ is to be visited. However, the different courses have varying eligibility criteria so the applicants are advised to apply suitably.

As part of the ITI courses’ application process in West Bengal, the candidates can apply under two categories: Group E and Group M. The applicants can apply for Group E or Group M, depending on whether they have cleared their 8th standard or 10th standard respectively.

Whether applying through offline or online modes, the candidates have to fill out the application form along with tendering the application fee. Also, if any documents are to be submitted or uploaded, the aspirants must complete the needful. However, if submitting online applications, a copy of the application form must be kept for future reference.

After the given timeline for application submission, the ITI authorities will release the merit list. The eligible candidates are, then, given admit cards or hall tickets. The hall tickets are downloadable from the official website. The candidates have to carry the admit cards to the exam hall or else they will not be given permission to write the exam.

Post the entrance test, the ITI board will prepare the merit list that is based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance exam. The candidates who appear on the merit list are invited to the counselling sessions.

Thereafter, the colleges are allocated to the applicants based on their overall performance. The candidates can, then, visit the respective ITI colleges to complete the admission formalities.
